Jérémie Priam is a visual artist of Martinican origin, whose work is part of a process of deconstruction and construction. In his research he is critical of the world and questions the violence and consequences of colonization by exploring themes of spirituality, religious drift, cultural identity and human relationships.

His surrealist and decolonial works take the form of dark and magical vanities, anonymous characters with bodies stripped of flesh and skin, still lifes with elements from Martinique’s fauna and prints of skeletal creatures. The human body also serves as a performance medium, giving life to the acrimonious beasts of the so-called Creole tales and myths, which he sometimes embodies himself. Jéremie offers us a window on an apocalyptic world, sheltered from exoticism, where social norms are dismantled.
