Gabriela is an artist, illustrator based in Cuba, that paints artworks about body experience and sensations fragmented with a narrative that is not stitched and almost undone. A mix between radical erotic experiences, mutilation, and bloodthirsty violence, while bodies are the recipient of the desires that others carry out through them.

We recognize her main inspirations Shunga (Japanese erotic engraving), Bijin-ga (Japanese painting of beautiful women), Eroguro, and the Japanese artistic movement Ukiyo-e and its iconographic codes.

It would be easy to think that his artistic work is only about bloody mutilation, it is much deeper. We explore the human being and its complexity: find pleasure, ecstasy, beauty in suffering.
Discover Gabriela’s universe, and take a blurry, intimate, and agitated wave of emotions.

“My illustrations describe my deepest desires and scenarios that in real life would be impossible for me to experiment.”
