Maria Diaz is a sculptor from Trinidad and Tobago, who has the particularity of approaching clay sculpture with her bare hands as a cathartic experience that gives her incomparable joy. Her three-dimensional art, especially the work in clay, offers an intimate experience between the artist and the work.
Her work is centred on the human form, the body, of which she enjoys both realistic and abstract interpretations. For her new series Whey yuh from, she brings out nostalgia and childhood memories that she freezes in surreal ceramic sculptures.

Incredible creativity and exceptional talent. So much is said in these pieces especially to those so shared similar experiences. The style of burglar-proofing depicted on one of the pieces was a walk into my own past home. I look forward to more from this outstanding artist! Bravo Maria and thank you for sharing your gift!!
