Carlos García Cintrón was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 23, 1954. He completed his doctorate’s degree in Clinical Psychology in the Centro Caribeño de Estudios Post-Graduados. He begins experimenting with photography in 1979, and as a self-taught artist he begins painting in 1996. In 2004, one of his paintings was auctioned in Christie’s Paris. From abstract figurative paintings, still life, to urban landscapes, Carlos García Cintrón uses a warm pallet to portray his subjects; auburn and maroon tones convey a sense of tenderness and intensity. His paintings are found in private, corporative and governmental collections in Puerto Rico, United States, Europe and South America.
